ENEF conclusions recognise importance of local level

Mr. Yves D’Eer represented GMF at the last European Nuclear Energy Forum (ENEF) held in Prague on 10 – 11 November 2022. The conclusions of ENEF are now available and recognise “the importance of stakeholder engagement and in particular, the need to involve local communities at an early stage, in the decision making processes related to hosting new nuclear developments”.  The conclusions are available in this link.

Founded in 2007, ENEF annual forums take place alternatively in Bratislava and Prague. They are open to everyone with an interest in nuclear energy, including EU governments, European institutions, such as the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee, representatives of the nuclear industry and regulators, electricity consumers and civil society.

GMF has participated in ENEF from the start, as we believe it is important to be able to debate constructively on different issues related to nuclear energy in the current context of an energy mix.
